Scavengers Studio is looking for a Community Manager  to work in a hybrid manner (on site and from home). The ideal candidate is collaborative, driven and creative, with in-depth experience on social media and gaming community hubs. They should have a proven track record of successful community management and development efforts in the entertainment industry, and a passion about the gaming industry, player communities, communications, and customer service.

As Community Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining a well-organized public communication plan and creating player engagement. Under the supervision of the Communications advisor, the community manager should lead community projects and communication efforts, as well as build meaningful and impactful relationships with players and influencers.

responsibilities

  • Define scope and plan for community management based on the editorial calendar, ensuring that the output is in line with the objectives set by the direction.
  • Deliver on time and create social and external creative content, including: images, text, video and other digital content that captures the spirit and tone of the games and studio. 
  • Contribute ideas and provide feedback to improve processes and pipelines. 
  • Proactively assess work and readjust objectives, propose solutions to problems and contribute to the success of the project, team and studio. 
  • Engage team members as well as dependent teams proactively in discussions and proposals. 
  • To act as a two way communication model in order to provide feedback and visibility to the internal teams from the communities and external stakeholders.
  • Onboard teams on new ideas, by actively listening to feedback from others. 
  • Ensure a clear follow up to their proposal by communicating promptly and clearly on the topics of community management. 
  • Contribute in creating a safe and respectful environment based on trust and respect, and communicate authentically and constructively.

key accountabilities

  • Build and oversee global community strategies and executions for Scavengers Studio’ communities, including Indie Narrative Adventure and next Originals titles
  • Lead the collaboration with key integrated communitcation partners such as PR, Influencer and Social teams to ensure unified franchise plans
  • Works directly with the Senior communication advisor on community events, including capture events, streams and other community programming.
  • Day-to-day management of extended community resources for the studio- internal teams, contractors, agency resources.
  • Support playtesting strategies

 qualifications & experiences

  •  7+ years of experience in community management, preferably in the entertainment industry
  • Excellent interpersonal communications skills to strengthen overall player engagement and positive sentiment for different games across the world
  • Has great relationships working with different core content creators and community/fan groups.
  • Proficient at presenting community plans and incorporating feedback
  • Excellent written skills and creating copy in many different formats
  • Strong team and people management skills in maintaining a fun environment and healthy work life balance for remote employees
  • Experience using social analytics tools, as well as experience working with Microsoft and Google productivity tools
  • Experience using web development platforms (i.e. wordpress) for updating blogs and web pages.

about the studio

Founded in 2015 in Montreal, Scavengers Studio is an independent video game studio bringing together a diverse team of daring creators. The company launched their first game Darwin Project, 3 years later. The studio experienced a wind of change in 2019, as cofounder Amélie Lamarche became the chief executive officer, giving birth to their second project called Season. 

Designing and imagining all of the video games they produce, this multidisciplinary group aims to provide unique experiences to its players through unique worlds. Pushing aside conventions, the studio is a playground that stands out for its variety of perspectives, a place where challenge and collaboration are the basis of creation.

We are currently building a game called Season.

Close your eyes, take a deep breath and let yourself be carried away by the journey of Season, a third-person atmospheric adventure bicycle road trip game. The premise of Season is that you play a traveller recording the last moments of different cultures before they’re washed away. Through the eyes of a young woman leaving a secluded community, you explore the wider world for the first time.
